Serena Williams Vs Angelique Kerber will be one of the nervy fixtures every Tennis fan will be looking forward to as both bat past their opponents, Jelena Ostapenka and Julia Goerges respectively in the Semifinals of Wimbledon 2018.
The 36-year-old Williams, who did not play Wimbledon last year while taking a leave of absence to have her first child, reached a Grand Slam final for the 12th straight season by beating Julia Goerges 6-2, 6-4 at the All England Club on Thursday.
“It’s crazy. I don’t even know how to feel. I literally didn’t expect to do this well in my fourth tournament back in 16 months. I just feel like when I don’t have anything to lose, I can just play so free. That’s kind of what I’m doing,” Williams said after the match.
Meanwhile, 11th-seeded Kerber beat Jelena Ostapenko 6-3, 6-3 in the other semifinal on Centre Court on Thursday.
“These are the matches I was working for as a young kid and to stand here again in the final at Wimbledon is great,” Kerber said on the other end after her match.
