Africa got her first three points at the tournament and before the clash, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria and Tunisia had lost their matches against Uruguay, Iran, Croatia and England respectively.
• An own goal off the leg of Poland defender Thiago Cionek gave the African side a 1-0 lead in the first half.
• M’Baye Niang intercepted a botched Poland pass and scored easily to give Mane’s side the 2-0 lead.
• Poland scored a late goal to cut Senegal’s advantage to 2-1.
