Live commentary on the maiden edition of the Akwa Ibom Super Four Tournament from the Uyo Township Stadium.

Background: The competition is meant to prepare the four teams representing Akwa Ibom at the national level in the Nigerian Professional Football League(NPFL), Nigerian National League(NNL) and Nationwide League for the rest of the season.

It is a stopgap initiated by the State’s Commissioner of Sport, Sir Monday Uko to cut cost against the past trend where the teams had to go beyond the borders of the State to test their fitness levels midway through the season.

This is the maiden edition. Definitely historic. Isn’t it?

Opening Fixture:

The opening fixtures will see Akwa Starlets trade tackles against Cofine FC here in the Uyo Township Stadium.
