Super Eagles Gaffer, Gernot Rohr has aired his opinion on the comparison made between Nigeria’s Ahmed Musa and Argentina’s Lionel Messi after the former’s brace against Iceland restored Nigeria’s hope of a place in the knockout phase of the 2018 World Cup.
Though Rohr will be hoping on the Leicester City forward to bag goals in the make-or-die encounter against Argentina, the Coach downplayed his capacity to that of the Barcelona star.
“Musa is not Lionel Messi yet,” the German told kicker.
“Somebody said ‘Lionel Musa’ yesterday, but he’s not there yet. I hope he can do it one day.”
Ahmed Musa who currently has the record as Nigeria’s highest goal scorer in the World Cup is seen by Argentine fans as a threat.
The 25-year-old scored twice against Argentina in the 2014 World Cup, although the Eagles lost 3-2.
Nigerians are hoping Gernot Rohr’s men break the jinx against the Albiceleste who have dominated the Super Eagles in all four encounters at the Mundial.
