Nigerian-born Armenia International Solomon Udo has sent an emotional goodbye message to his former club Ararat Yerevan after leaving them to join Shaktah Karaganda in the Kazakhstan Premier League.
The midfielder spent just one season on his return for a second spell with Ararat, making nine appearances in the league with a couple of games in the league cup for the former Armenian League Champions.
The fine form enjoyed by Udo ended his first call-up for the Armenia National team which he made his International debut in the Nations league 1-1 draw against Estonia back in October 2020.
Udo has been part of the Armenian National team for the time being as he has opened a new chapter of his club career in Kazakhstan.
Udo played a crucial part in his side’s 5-0 thumping of FC Kazanka of Russia in a friendly game on his debut.
The midfielder wrote on one of his social media platform; “It’s yet another challenge and life has already began at my new club Shakhter Karaganda FC as we played out a 5-0 win against FC Kazanka of Russia in a preseason friendly encounter.
I’ll miss everyone at Ararat Yerevan. It was an amazing time during which we got to fight our way through to the top of the table midway through the season. It was really a tough decision to leave. I never got to meet the fans during the period of my stay due to the pandemic but I felt their love and warm support here(online).”
“Looking forward to a new season in my new home. And I’ve heard about the fans at Karaganda, their passion, devotion and love for the game is unique.” he added.
