Spain Captain Sergio Ramos missed a couple of penalties in the same night he became the most capped male European football player.
Ramos reached his 177 appearances for Spain when he led his side out of the tunnel against Switzerland.
But the defender, very unlikely of him missed from six yards both in the 57th and 80th minutes as the scores remained 1-0 for the Swiss.
The 34-year old failed on two occasions to equalise for his side after Atalanta midfielder Remo Freuler has given Switzerland the lead in 26th minute.
But substitute Gerard Moreno grabbed the all-needed goal to bring his side level late in the second half.
Spain have been struggling against the Swiss as they suffered their only defeat in 2010 World cup in their hands but went on to win the trophy.
