FC Shirak midfielder Solomon Udo has joined Ararat Yerevan on loan for the rest of the 2020/2021 Armenian Premier League season.
The 85-year-old club which has churned out several legends of European football including Eduard Markarov were keen to include the Nigerian-born midfield talisman, who was recently handed an invitation to the Armenian Senior national team, to their roster for the season.
Udo was a dependable defensive option in the heart of the pitch for Shirak FC in the 2019/2020 season and also contributed three goals while providing two assists.
The 25-year-old’s versatility has earned him rare reviews in the APL making him one of the most sought-after defensive midfielders in the country.
The Aspire Academy graduate confirmed he had joined the Yerevan-based side on Friday via his Twitter handle.
“I am really delighted to join Ararat Yerevan, a club so rich in history and full of legends.
My heart is committed to helping the team achieve great success. My goal is to win trophies,” he wrote.
Ararat Yerevan are desirous of winning their first League title after 27 years and have also acquired Shirak’s FC goal poacher Mory Kone.
The Ivorian was the highest goal scorer in the previous season and was voted the best player of the campaign.
