Nigerian-born midfielder Solomon Ime Udo has been named in the Armenian National Team’s UEFA Nations League squad to face North Macedonia and Estonia during the FIFA International Break.
Udo, born in Nigeria, is signed to FC Shirak Gyumri in the Armenian Premier League.
The 24-year old midfielder pledged his international allegiance to Armenia in June after being contacted by the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA), following recommendations from Coach Joaquin Caparros.
Caparros noticed Udo’s versatility and opted to convince him to dump the Super Eagles of Nigeria for Armenia. Armenia occupy Group 2 of League C alongside Estonia, North Macedonia and Georgia.
Udo is sure to make his debut for his new found home after being named in the 23-man list submitted to the FFA and UEFA by head coach Joaquin Caparros.
