Lionel Messi’s lingering transfer from Barcelona is still undecided as the meeting between his Dad, Jorge Messi and Barca president president Josep Bartomeu ended without an agreement yesterday.
Jorge Messi and Bartomeu met for 90 minutes in Barcelona to discuss the future of Lionel, but the meeting was inconclusive as the Barcelona forward is still on strike.
Messi went on strike as he wants to push for a move away from Nou camp.
Daily telegraph today reported that the Argentine captain can leave Catalonia for as low as £88.8 (€100m).
But Barcelona insists the 33-year old’s release clause is €700m.
Arab-owned English club Manchester City are strong contenders for his signature as reports suggested that City’s director of football was in Barcelona last week to discuss a possible deal to lure Messi to England.
Messi is one of the high-profile players wanting to depart the Nou camp as Ivan Rakitic has already begun the exodus, joining former club Sevilla on a four-year deal as well as Luis Suarez and Arturo Vidal who are wanted by Juventus and Inter Milan respectively.
