English premier league side Southampton acquired the service of Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu for £10.9m.
Salisu joined from LaLiga side Real Valladolid on a four-year deal.
The highly-rated centre-back always wanted to play in the premier league.
Salisu dreamed of playing in the Premier League,” says Fran Castano, the founder of the African Talent Football Academy that helped launch Mohammed Salisu’s career.
“I think the team is perfect for him and his own potential is still very high. Salisu will continue to improve, he just needs to play and be given confidence and patience. He can be a great player.”
The 21-year Old had 154 clearance in LaLiga last season, the third highest in the division.
He will be available for selection as the season kicks off next month.
