Chelsea Football club have secured the services of Malang Sarr on a free transfer as he signed a five-year deal after running out his contract with the Ligue 1 club Nice, the club have announced.
The 21-year old, who has made over 100 appearances for Nice will, according a club statement immediately go out on loan to further gain a regular first team experience.
He has made over 100 appearances for Nice but will still need game time to gather more experience.
In a statement, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said: “The opportunity to sign Malang was one we could not miss. He is a tremendous prospect and we will be monitoring him closely during his loan period, hoping he will soon be back at Chelsea. We are very happy to welcome him to the club today.”
Sarr was voted Nice’s young player of the year after last season.
The French U21 International becomes the club’s fifth signing of the season after Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell and Xavier Mbuyamba have already joined.
