The 35-year old turns 36 in October. He scored 32 goals in 59 appearances in his first spell at Shanghai.
And he is on course to replicate his form as the Chinese super league is set to start on July 25th.
Martins, better known in his native Nigeria for his acrobatic celebration has played for both Inter and Newcastle.
He will have the opportunity to bring his career back to life as they take on champions Guangzhou Evergrande on the opening day.
