Belgian-born Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers has completed his Genk move from Dutch top flight club Heracles Almelo for an undisclosed fee.
The forward signs a four-year deal which will keep him at the club till the summer of 2024.
Dessers scored 18 goals including six assists in 29 appearances across all competitions for Heracles after spending just one season at the club.
While reacting to the transfer, Genk’s sporting Director Dimitri de Conde said : Cyriel has developed excellently in the Netherlands as a footballer and as a real goalscorer ,” he told the club’s website.
“He is Belgian , still young and ready to take the next step in his career . The fact that he was a supporter of our club as a child only makes it even better .”
The forward also made dome remarks following his dream come true transfer: “As a little boy you dream of great things. I dreamt of KRC Genk ,” Dessers tweeted .
