Manchester United’s goalkeeper Dean Henderson has given boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a condition before signing a new deal at the club.
Henderson stated that only a guarantee for the number one spot will make him pen a new deal at Old Trafford.
The 23-year old current deal runs till the summer of 2022 and United are willing to tie him down for more years as he is considered a long-term replacement for current number one, David Da Gea.
The England goalkeeper is tipped to succeed Da Gea even earlier than expected considering the Spaniard’s drop on form, with his latest error coming in United’s 1-1 draw at Spurs.
Henderson who is on loan at Sheffield United has been instrumental in the Blades continued search for European spot, and his form has put him in pole position to return to Old Trafford next season.
Solskjaer will need to use the few remaining league games to ascertain who will be his number one next season as this season is close to completion.
